[MR] Length of term for Atlantian royalty

dont forget that you first serve as prince/princess for six months prior to
your reign as king/queen. a lot of the ground work gets done while you are
heir to the throne and that time serves as sort of "on the job training" for
those entering their first reign. given that there are a number of major
interkingdom events (pennsic, gulf wars) it allows someone a little more
leeway in getting that time off from work to represent the kingdom at those
venues. and, having done the job myself, that year is plenty long enough!
if it were to move to two years it would be a bit overwhelming. also this
allows for some fresh new faces and more opportunity to serve the kingdom.
i do think that the four month reigns as are done in the west are too short.

Subject: [MR] Length of term for Atlantian royalty

Greetings unto the tavern,

Please forgive a question from a relative newbie... why is the term for
Atlantian royals only six months and not a year? It would seem to me (not
that I'm an experienced judge, or anything) that a year would give the
royalty a better opportunity to accomplish whatever their goals were...

Can anyone please explain to me the reason(s) for the six month term? Thank
you!

Humbly,
Martine Picot
