Rejoice, children of Atlantia! Or at least those planning to attend TTnT: the traditional children’s feast / Halloween Party will happen. (I, the autocrat, am very grateful to the small committee of generous nobles who have agreed to supervise it.)
Of interest to everyone attending Troubadours, Tyrants & Thieves (Oct. 23-25, Camp Spencer at Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation in Street, MD) are the delicious meals that will be available. For a few dollars, those arriving on Friday evening can enjoy a supper by Lord Gustav of baked chicken and salad and bread.
Saturday will be a day to revel in the culinary skillls of the famed Bright Hills Cooks Guild. Breakfast and lunch will be fund-raisers for the guild, available for modest prices. Lunch will feature hearty soups and fresh bread. Saturday evening, the guild, under the supervision of Lady Sindara, will supply a feast fit for King Richard and Queen Eleanor. Here’s the menu:
Course 1:
Chicken Gan Eden (Chicken from the Garden of Eden)
rice
baked turnips in mustard
Savory toasted cheese on broccoli
Daryoles (creamy tarts)
Orange Gels to cleanse the palate
Course 2:
Venison stew
fried squash
fruit pie (apple, pear, fig & raisin)
Those with allergies or other reasons to need special accommodations, should contact the head cook, HL Sindara Lind Rachael of the Falconshield (MKA Sharon R. Saroff), 410-356-1046, sindara at pobox.com.
Let me notify or remind all the grownups of the strange custom attached to this event: that those eating the feast need to bring treats to appease the small gremlins, goblins, and ghosts who will visit the hall.
You have been warned!
Lady Yseulte, haunted autocrat
