If that knight was actually a bit upset, than he's a jerk and you can tell
him I said so. :)

If he was just helping out a newbie, well that's ok.

Knights who fuss about things like that usually have an insecurity problem.

Now this I can sympathize with. Never wanting to show lack or respect as a
newcomer I (for lack of understanding titles) called all males 'Sir' until a
Knight got a bit upset at me calling a non-knight by that title...  I still
like to show a friendly greeting to everyone but I don't feel it
disrespectful to not say their current title either. A friend is a friend
unless they show themselves otherwise!

We were joking once that if using the wrong title truly demoted people then
I've beheaded more Crowns than I can count and most not intentionally!!

What's really depressing is when you demote somebody by mistake in black and
white on scroll because you've called them Lord somebody for 10 years before
they became Crown and you can't change habits at 3 am!  *sigh*  <grin>
