OBTAINING PROOF OF MEMBERSHIP FOR PENNSIC WAR

In order to receive the member discount at Pennsic War, attendees must
show a valid proof of SCA membership at the gate. Each year, many people
who cannot locate their membership cards use the online membership
system to print proof-of-membership letters just before they leave for War.

For most people, the system works perfectly, but as with any online
system there are occasional glitches. If you purchased your membership
by postal mail, the online system won't have your membership
information, and therefore can't supply a proof-of-membership letter.
If you haven't kept a record of your membership transaction ID, you
won't be able to use the lookup service. And if you forget to include
the "US" or "IN" prefix, the system won't be able to find your information.

In any of these cases, the SCA Webfolk and the Member Services Office
are happy to work with you to resolve the problem and get you a valid
proof of membership, but we need enough time to do this. For those who
purchased memberships by postal mail, the Member Services Office must
print and mail out a new card. For those who renewed online, the Webfolk
need to work with you to find and resolve the cause of the problem,
which could take a few days. If you encounter a problem after the
Webfolk have already left for Pennsic themselves, they will not be
available to help you.

If you are going to Pennsic this year, won't you please take a moment
NOW to make sure that your membership and those of your family members
are valid and that you have current member cards or proof-of-membership
letters? If you need to replace your membership cards, please contact
the Member Services Office at membership at sca.org before July 1. Include
your full name, address, and membership number (if available). If you
are printing out a proof of membership letter, please do so by July 15
at the
latest, so we have time to help you with any problems that may arise.

We are glad to help, and the sooner you find out about a problem the
sooner we can help you resolve it, which means peace of mind for all of
us in the stressful days getting ready for Pennsic.
