Actually there was a household of "Courtesans" in the middle several year ago.... They offered foot baths, massages, feeding, simple things like that, always out where everyone could see what was going on, and they took donations for it...

At the end of the year, they took all these donations gathered throughout the year, and then made a donation to a Mundane Charity, of the Current Queen's Choice.... The Donation was made in the name of the Queen of the Kingdom, SCA, Mundane name.... It also had the opportunity to give the SCA a bit of good press with some Charities....

 Until the next,
Yours in service,

Cap'n Jack Black of Flint
((AKA: BlackJack))
Lord and Master of "The Raptor"
Seneschal, Barony of Hidden Mountain
Brute for Hire

Courtesans! The acceptable career professional name is Courtesan! A very useful and sometimes indispensable profession of the Middle Ages! A very, very 'entertaining' profession...

Rats, I had planned on going to Pennsic this year too. Darn this recession and the layoffs...

>Think about it: "ideas that will not die", absolutely period, good
clean wholesome fun that will attract newcomers, great aerobic activity,
suitable for (some) Youth events, and of course a way to raise money
to support good causes (think 'Kissing Booth' at "Men W/O pants" every
Pennsic).
-- Just an humble suggestion from the twisted mind of . . .
