In the days of Gunthar Jonsson II and His Lady Queen Elizabeth in far away Ansteorra, there came unrest upon the lands. Friend raised spear against friend. Brother crossed sword with sister. Bolts flew, horses screamed and ale ran freely. Trade routes were disrupted, great teachers could not reach their universities and so they followed the armies. Even the bards worried the world with their wales.
These were days full of danger when ravens feasted and Valkries wearied of their work. In this time Gunthar sent word far and wide to His royal cousins the known world round. Hearing this call, Jason Kinslae, Konungur of the Atlantian lands, was moved to launch long boats and travel to aid Gunthar, His friend.
So did it happen that Jason and His Lady Gerhild the Willful, Drotning of Atlantia, landed upon the shores of the Kingdom of Gleann Abhann. Here gathered the many forces of the known world and battle was met.
Whilst resting after a day of hard fighting and great learning, Their Majesties Atlantia decided to hold court and recognize some of Their subjects present upon the lands so far from home. In the gathering dusk of a soft southern sky on Woden's day March 18 being also the feast day of St. Cyril of Jerusalem did They call court to order.
His Majesty thanked all assembled for supporting the Atlantian cause and allied efforts by attending war. He noted the Atlantian Archers had showed surpassing skill on the ranges that day.
The following business was completed that evening...
Lord Henry Bartholemew West was awarded membership in the Order of the Opal for his contstant service to kingdom and populace.
?
Darrius Eldridson was recognized as noble and Awarded Arms.
Herrin Gisela vom Kreuzbach was entered into the Order of the Golden Dolphin.
Lady Beatrix von Leipzig was made a companion of the Order of the Coral Branch for the quality of her artistic hand.
Master Vortigern Faber was made part of the Order of the Sea Dragon for his strong arm on the rapier fields.
Lady Lynnette Semere's art and abilities were acknowledged and she was made part of the Order of the Coral Branch.
Their Majesties graciously agreed to hear my plea for justice. Being the seneschale of the Barony of the Sacred Stone, it has plagued my heart greatly to know that our dear friend Baroness Graciella had wondered lost and been found in the lands of the Barony of Black Diamond. There she was brought bound and tied before Their Excellencies Black Diamond who on advice of Their populace have declared They will ~keep~ her and not even ask a ransome so we can retrieve our friend. I begged Their Majesties and Their Highnesses to please allow us to seek the justice of the gods in a test of arms on the grounds of the Elchenbug Castle for a chance to win her freedom.
His Highness, being a close associate of Their Excellencies Rousel and Gayla, wondered aloud about how His loyalties called Him, feeling the tie of household bound Him tightly to Black Diamond. Baron Axel of Sacred Stone offered the great geld of Cheerwine unto the weight of His Highness as payment ...who parried the payment of a different beverage in the weight of a larger fighter might carry more influence...
His Majesty, acknowledging the negotiations would continue, allowed that we might indeed meet upon the Elchenburg fields in October to settle the matter of Graciella's freedom. War of the Wings III is set for October 8-11.
Returning to the proper business at hand, Their Majesties called forward...
Edward Kinslae who has served Their Majesties before and through Their reign in stalwart ways. For this he was made a Baron of Their Court.
Egia Vamesdattir who, likewise, has served Their Majesties before and throughout Their reign, was made a Baroness of Their Court.
His Majesty then noted Lady Eleanor of Grey won the Freja (Ladies Only) Thrown Weapons Tourney that day.
Here then did Their Majesties close Their Court and bid Their Populace enjoy the companionship of friends old and new.
This is my report of the evening. Any errors are my own. I crave correction should any be found and stand as your humble servant.
Herrin Gisela vom Kreuzbach
