[MR] (Blacksmithing) Looking for inside info about SUNY New Paltz Metals Program

Greetings List,

 

I'm trying to find information to help a talented young man get into the Metals BFA program at SUNY New Paltz. His first application was rejected because it was probably sent too late in the cycle. However, I'm looking for anyone with connections to the program who might be able to give me some insider information about how to get in.

 

The young man has blacksmithing experience and wants to open his own fine arts blacksmith shop. This is not a high school kid with no life experience. This guy does undersea welding for a job and saved up money to pay for college in cash, god love him.

 

If anybody has any off-the-record intel, please share with me off-line. If someone could post this to the East Kingdom list, I would appreciate it as I believe that SUNY New Paltz is in the East Kingdom.
