To Your Highness's and populace at large:

HRM Gerhild and I have camped in Atlantian Royal for the last
three years and we wanted to give our perspective on this camp as we are
very familiar with the site. Overall the land is excellent for camping;
the site is very flat, has good water and does not flood. We also get
some extra land with this site since it is a corner lot( giving us a lot
of access points for the various sub camps in Royal along with a main
access point for the populace common area), the borders are well
established with our neighbors, and you only have neighbors one side of
the camp since the rest of Royal is bordered by roads. The lot also has
a nice rectangular shape which makes it very easy to lay out a camp,
maximize the use of space and unload your equipment. The location is
close to the battlefield and merchant area, and easy to find and get to
since it is along the back road which is less traveled than the roads
closer to the merchant area. As his Highness pointed out in his post the
biggest negative is the road noise. I personally do not think it is that
bad and moving the camp a few blocks closer to the merchant area would
not make much difference. I have camped in those blocks before and there
was really no difference in road noise. We would have to move the camp
on the other side of the battlefield to really get away from the road
noise. Also the closer you move the camp to the merchant area the more
you have to deal with Pennsic traffic and neighbors. Some of the biggest
negatives to moving the camp would be the loss of our permanent Royal
Land, the amount of land tied to the number of registrants' in the camp
as in a standard camp, and with the possibility of the site moving from
year to year. By having the size of Royal tied to the number of campers
as in a standard camp, this would not leave us enough land to hold court
or have any kind of common area for the populace, which in effect
defeats the whole purpose of moving the camp to get away from road noise
in the first place. Therefore we vote not to move Atlantian Royal for
the reasons we stated above.

Sincerely
Jason (Konungr)

Gerhild (Drotting)
