Greetings all,

 

Windmasters' Hill has a new baronial website up (www.windmastershill.org
<http://www.windmastershill.org/> ) and I've been uploading photos from our
trip to Istanbul last summer.

 

Topics include:

 

Turkish:

 

arms and armour

siege weapons

pottery and tiles

 

Byzantine:

 

pottery

jewelry

mosaics

Walls of Theodosius

 

Plus a miscellany of other stuff.  

 

The photos are getting slowly loaded onto the site, I have a 5k upload speed
to work with. :-(  So check back again, because it takes awhile to load all
the photos up! 

 

The site compresses the photos by a 20:1 ratio so a lot of detail gets lost.
If you find a photo that would be particularly helpful, let me know which
one it is and I can send you a copy of the original.

 

I've also started an annotated bibliography to Medieval Pottery on the site.
(My books are at home and I'm out of the country, so it's mostly just a
listing so far.)  Feel free to add to it!
