>From _An Heraldic Alphabet_ by J.P. Brooke-Little:
"Moon - The full moon is said to be "in her complement" or "in plenitude"
and often has a human face to distinguish her from a plate. When the moon
is not full, she is a crescent and is so described unless a face is
indicated.
Crescent - A half moon with the horns pointing upwards. If the horns point
to dexter it is an "increscent", if to the sinister, a decrescent, and if to
the base it is a "crescent reversed'. It is the mark of a second son."
Moon in her Plenitude - http://www.aeheralds.net/rolls/individual.php?id=96
Crescent - http://heralds.westkingdom.org/Templates/Stars/Crescent.htm
A _de_crescent looks like the letter "C"; and an _in_crescent is reversed
from that.
