Subject: [MR] a scadian in need
Ahoy all.
I am Travis Williams also known as Willaem Van Der Boack. I
started going to SCA events in 2003, so far 6 Pennsics. I am originally
from North East Ohio, and where I lived at it was hard to find local fighter
practices. I have Asperger's and depression, which makes meeting new people
hard for me. So I figure I'll try on the mailing list. I have always
wanted the SCA before I knew what it was. I used to make costumes of
knights growing up, the morals of chivalry and heroism are the only things
that have kept my mind from getting worse.
I grew up without friends, living in the middle of no where
didn't help, no did being on 8 different medications that I was misdiganosed
and put on. I worked my way through school and became an CNA, dreaming of
one day saving enough for my own set of armour, and to find a group, a band
of brothers to fight with.
In November my Aunt had a job opening for me and said all I would
have to do is come down and work, and my Father offered to help me get
through school if I ever moved down. I moved down to find out that NC
health will not recognise my 4 years of CNA work, my lisense, nor my class
certificate. So I focused on school, but I could not get any finicial aid
and would have to pay 2500$ just for one semester. Well that was going fine
till my Grandmother passed away(she co-owned the house I'm staying in and
helped pay bills.) I still haven't found work and with the extra strain of
bills, I saw all I could do is drop out to help my father. And on top of
that my SSI hasn't gone through. Now I am having to file chapter 13 because
I'm just about out of money.
Asperger's makes keeping a job hard as it is, let alone the lack
of jobs everywhere. So if there is anyone who needs a honest hard worker at
events setting up and tearing down, carrying gear, I'm always availiable.
And if there are any fighter's willing to take a new fighter under their
wing I would be honored. I dream of becoming a Knight one day, and who
knows, maybe King, a man can dream at least. Feel free to call anytime or
email.

Grym
