OPTION 1:
I-68 west (114 mi) to Morgantown WV, where it ends at I-79.
I-79 north (112 mi) to exit 99 (Butler/New Castle), left on US 422.
US 422 west 1/2 mile; right on Currie Road.
OPTION 1a (for getting supplies in New Castle first):
I-68 west (114 mi) to Morgantown WV, where it ends at I-79.
I-79 north (71 mi) to US 22/30 west (4 mi) to Pittsburgh airport exit.
PA 60 north past the airport (45 mi) to US 422 at New Castle.
Note that the last 20 or so miles of route 60 are a toll road.
(You are now very close to Beer-4-Less.)
US 422 east (17 mi) 1 mile past US 19, left on Currie Road.
OPTION 2:
I-70 "west" (really north) to exit 147 at Breezewood PA. NOTE: exit
147 is a traffic light, you have no choice.
Right at the light, first ramp to I-70/76 Turnpike.
Turnpike WEST (133 mi) to exit 28, Cranberry.
Follow the signs for I-79 north and get on it.
I-79 north (21 mi) to exit 99 (Butler/New Castle), left on US 422.
US 422 west 1/2 mile; right on Currie Road.
OPTION 2a:
Instead of getting off the turnpike at exit 28, go to exit 10.
PA 60 north (also a toll road; 13 mi) to US 422 at New Castle.
(You are now very close to Beer-4-Less.)
US 422 east (17 mi) 1 mile past US 19, left on Currie Road.
OPTION 3:
I-70 "west" (really north) to exit 147 at Breezewood PA. NOTE: exit
147 is a traffic light, you have no choice.
Left at the light onto US 30 West.
US 30 west (18 mi) to Bedford; take the exit for I-99/US 220 north.
(You can also take the Turnpike west to the Bedford exit instead)
I-99/US 220 north (30 mi) to exit 28 just south of Altoona.
US 22 west (21 mi) to Ebensburg; follow the signs for US 422 west.
US 422 west (99 mi) to the I-79 interchange.
US 422 west 1/2 mile more; right on Currie Road.
I don't find the hills really any worse on the non-Turnpike routes
myself, but those pulling trailers should be advised that there is
one spot on I-68 near Morgantown where a relatively steep downhill
grade has an odd curve. Likewise on US 22 near Cresson and Loretto,
there's a fairly curvy grade. On the other hand, there will be less
road construction on the non-Turnpike routes. Your call.
As noted before, I will post separately regarding road construction
and exit renumbering in Pennsylvania.
