apart from Sagas and Sums - which I can't find an explanation of
or if this is simply a reissue. However, I know there are many people
who would be excited by the reissue of this. It's been highly sought
after for quite a while by people interested in Norse culture.

The older edition has a quicktime flaw in it that must be fixed with
a downloadable patch from the website, which seems to be still included
on these new pages. This was not mentioned on the original CD. Otherwise
it would not run properly. I can't find any documentation here
suggesting that the new one has had this fixed. I would presume it
should be, but they don't say. Just so you know going into the bargain.
Originally it was designed for Windows 3.1. I bought it when W95 had
come out sometime around the first of 1996.

Unfortunately, when I bought the original WOV CD from Celtic Cultures
the
man wouldn't pick up the phone or answer emails from two of us (myself
and an IBM mainframe computer programmer) repeatedly concerning this
problem. Consequently I do not recommend him as a merchant to anyone
and he'd been selling the product for a year and a half at $110. So
we spent most of two weeks trying to find out what was wrong with a
brand new computer instead that had the appropriate technology in it.

I highly recommend buying directly from the originator's website and
avoiding the whole needless hassle. It was originally advertised for
sale in Tournaments Illuminated, which is the SCA's main quarterly in
the mid-90's and not for sale since even though a lot of interest has
been expressed about it to the originators Past Forward who are
allied with the York, England, Jorvik Viking Museum.
