-----------------------

Venerated Veteran Vagabonds and Virgin Vagabonds alike,

Spring has sprung and the warm weather of May has us thinking, planning
and occasionally panicking in preparation for the upcoming Pennsic War.
YIV will be back in full force again this year, and that means we need
staff, and lots of it!

You may remember me from such previous roles as AJ's assistant and
staff coordinator for Pennsic 37, assistant slum lord (now Slum Lord)
of Regnesfolke/Myrkfaelinn, and sometime field marshal in a silly
tabard, but for those new to the show, I am Nick Ferraro, and AJ has
foolishly allowed me the privilege of again coordinating the staff this
year, which has me musically musing, “I’m in a bind, I’m way behind,
and I’m looking for a soul to steal.” Umm… just kidding… sort of… there
is much truth in jest.

A good deal of organizing has happened amongst AJ and some of the
managerial types, and now it is time to call in the cavalry. Without
the staff, the coffeehouse is an empty shell, and it is our goal this
year to give everyone more and better background material and
information in advance to allow you all to be the best (insert position
here) you can be. You all play an integral role, and I hope you will be
willing20to contribute to the continued return and miraculous success of
YIV.

More hiring details will soon be available online, but for the sake of
getting the ball rolling, I just have a few questions for you:

1. Are you planning to attend Pennsic this year?

2. If you are coming to war, would you like to work at YIV?

3. Is this the best address at which to email you (or do you want smoke signals or flags)?

4. Have you joined the Your Inner Vagabond Tribe yet? If you don't
know what tribe.net is, then the answer is probably no. Check them out
at: http://tribes.tribe.net/innervagabondkitchen

                     and

This year we will be using an online scheduling system that will make
it a lot easier for you to provide your availability and get your
schedule before Pennsic, as well as solve a lot of the old scheduling
headaches for all of us… insha’allah. Details on the scheduling system
will be provided to those brave souls who answer our call.

A few salient points:

Kitchen staff will again be required to be 18+ years old, although
servers can be younger. Urchins also have a place at YIV, especially if=0
Athey will work for sweet drinks.

**We ask all staff to commit to at least four, 4-hour shifts over the course of their Pennsic.**

**Scheduling preference will be given to those who can work more than 4 shifts.**

**All staff must work at least one night shift (6PM or later) unless you are under 18 or work 4 or more opening shifts.**

So, as your dreams (and sometimes nightmares, especially for you
fighters among us) fill with the sights and sounds of Pennsic, this is
the time to let us know about your plans and we will add you to the
schedule for this year's YIV coffeehouse. I am very happy to be working
with you again, and look forward to meeting new friends and seeing old
ones this year at Pennsic.

 If you have friends/relatives/campmates/ex-lovers/drinking
buddies/hangers-on who may be interested in working at YIV, please
forward this email to them ASAP so they can get in touch with us as
well.

Much love and Turkish coffee,

Nick
