Greetings from the autocrat of Just a Tourney!
Got nothing to do next weekend?  Feel like coming to an event where
you won't have to work or rush around from activity to activity? Come
on up to Hawkwood for Just a Tourney!  There will be some fighting,
some arts and sciences, some merchants, a great simple feast and
plenty of time to enjoy yourself.  Please see the flyer below for

Remember back, to those careless days in our youth, when all you
needed to go to an event was a blanket for seating, a hunk of cheese,
a loaf of bread and a carefree attitude? Hawkwood invites its
neighbors and friends to a casual day where every moment isn’t taken
up with activities and every barony member isn’t tasked with 15
duties! Bring your blanket and a smile and join us for a relaxing day
of just tourneys and companionship!

Martial Activities: Simple format. Double elim or Round Robin
tourneys, depending on the number of entrants!

A & S:  Open Display -- bring your current projects, works in
progress, favorite piece.  Documentation encouraged but not required.
This will be a display only -- not a competition.

Cost:

Adult, Member: $5.00 Day-Trip, $6.00 Feast

Adult, Non-Member: $8.00 Day-Trip, $6.00 Feast

Youth (6-17): $5.00 Day-Trip, $6.00 Feast

Child (0-5): $0.00 Day-Trip, $0.00 Feast

Make Checks Payable To: SCA, Inc., Barony of Hawkwood

Cost Notes: FEAST IS LIMITED TO 40 PERSONS. Children 5 and under are
guests of the Barony, but MUST have a reservation if occupying a seat
during feast. Non-member adults must add $3 to the above prices. All
refund requests must be received IN WRITING within 7days of the end of
the event. The only true reservation is a PAID reservation!

Site: The site is Oak Forest Presbyterian Church, 880 Sand Hill Road,
Asheville, NC 28806.

Site Restrictions: The site is wet, but since this is a day event, we
ask that no one overindulge. Please carry off your empties. No pets
allowed. Park only in designated areas. Site opens Saturday, June 27,
at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 9:00 p.m.

Feast Information: FEAST IS LIMITED TO 40 PERSONS! A simple, yet
delight¬ful feast will be prepared by Lady Sorcha inghean
MacDhughaill. Please address any dietary concerns to the autocrat.

Merchanting: Blanket merchanting welcome! No tables or chairs will be
available for merchant use, per site policy.

Directions:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take your best route to I-40, Exit 44(Enka-Candler exit), west of
Asheville. Take exit 44(19-23) and turn right at the off ramp light
towards McDonalds. Turn left at the 4th or 5th traffic light
(depending on which side of I-40 you came from) onto Sand Hill Rd,
which is directly across from WestRidge Shopping Center. Go past the
Enka-Candler library and Post Office Continue about 1.8 miles to the
intersection of Sand Hill Road, Sand Hill School Road and Oakview
Road. The church is just beyond the intersection on the right. There
is a large parking lot on the side of the church opposite the
cemetery. Park in that lot.
