Greetings unto the Kingdom Chroniclers of the Known World from
Rosamund Beauvisage.

Although this is by no means an ideal way to to this, I am writing to
ask your help disseminating some information -- specifically a call
for volunteer help at Pennsic from members of your populace who are
planning to attend the War.  Volunteering has been steadily declining
over the last few years, placing more and more of a time and energy
burden on the Pennsic staff and the loyal cadre of volunteers who
every year answer the call to donate some of their time.  For all of
these folks, "some time" is getting to be more and more of their
Pennsic vacation because the number of volunteers is fewer.

To that end, we have a new volunteering information page on the
Pennsic web site
(http://www.pennsicwar.org/penn38/GENERAL/volunteers.html) but so far
it is not generating the response we had hoped for, and we hope that
it is because not many people realize it is there.  I am writing to
ask you if you could post the attached message to your Kingdom chat
list and to your Kingdom's peerage lists (or ask someone to do the
latter if you are not a triple peer <grin>) to get this information
out as widely and as quickly as possible.

I realize this is an imposition on your time, but as a former Mayor of
Pennsic and a long-time staff member, I do admit to concern about the
level of burden being placed on those who give so much year after
year.  I also as a Pelican am always looking to introduce the populace
to the joys of service, even one hour at a time.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at your convenience,
or call me at 937-681-0050 before 10 PM EDT.  You have my most humble
and sincere gratitude in advance for assisting me in this cause.

In glad service--
B. Rosamund Beauvisage, OP, OL
Deputy Mayor for Interdepartmental Matters, PW 38
