[MR] Summer War- July 3-5, 2009- Caer Mear

Summer War is fast approaching! July 3-5, 2009.  

Come join the Barony of Caer Mear in the shade of Tom Scott Park (Sapphire site) and enjoy a laid back weekend of fighting, singing, feasting, and reveling with friends as we prepare for the Great Pennsic War.  Their Majesties will be in attendance and melee instruction will be offered in preparation for fighting at Pennsic.  The Baron and Baroness of Caer Mear will choose new Champions and a Baronial Artisan during the weekend.  

The cost of the event is the same to day trip or to camp, $8, and for an additional $5, you can partake in a simple but delicious feast.  The site opens at 5pm on Friday and closes at Noon on Sunday.  

The event is open camping; camp where you like.  There is no need to preregister a group to camp together and the land is first come-first serve.  All camping is on the "other side" of the Palisade wall at Tom Scott - the treed side.  

As with Sapphire Joust, firebowls are permitted, as are firepits, but all pits must be completely turfed and all ashes from bowls MUST be thoroughly soaked and dumped somewhere inconspicuous (I highly recommend the tree line).  Pets are not permitted; any service animal MUST be prergistered with the Autocrat by email and must have all shots and licenses up to date.  The site is wet.  

Preregistration is not required but very helpful to the Staff of the event- the more information we have about possible attendees, the better we are able to serve our guests and provide amenities accordingly.  Merchants who would like to sell at Summer War need to contact the autocrat (melisentlaruse at yahoo.com or 804-658-9185) to ensure space is available.
