im sure that can be done if the winning person requests it. i would,
however, check with the knight you are thinking of bidding on before
actually bidding to make sure they are willing and able to do so. for
example, im not sure what i could teach a youth fighter as im not familiar
enough (i dont think) with their fighting rules. i would, however,
certainly brush up on them and ask a lot of questions real quick if someone
thought i could help their kid. so, yes, consider me an option. im sure
most of my brothers are in the same boat and would also be willing to learn
in order to teach. but, check with them first.
also! i wanted to point out that baron matthew has updated the assessments
webpage with a very cool paypal option for those unable to attend the event
or unable to get their donations to a staff member beforehand. take a look
at it and use it if you need to! you can purchase tickets from any staff
member for the drawing at assessments prior to the event. just make sure to
tell them which knight(s) you wish your ticket(s) to go towards. hrhs
squire abel has come up with what i think is a gem of an idea with this and
i hope to see it happen again in the future. i have a question of expansion
for those in the arts community. if this were expanded to say include
something like the following:
an hour with:
a costuming laurel to show him/her your work and go over your techniques or
stumbling blocks (this could be any laurel or artisan that offers for any
art. for example, im no laurel but i would be happy to spend an hour in a
kitchen talking about technique/proper food handling/purchasing/actual
recipe creation/critique of dishes or techniques/how to sharpen a
knife/etc).
or perhaps an hour (or less) of song in your camp from a musician
something like that. would there be support for such an addition? is there
an interest in it?
im just trying to come up with other ideas for fundraising that doesnt
include an auction of goods. some states have restrictions against raffling
items of value and while im sure the tax man wouldnt be at an sca event
snooping around it does cause some folks concern about doing them. i had
planned on a dunking booth for sapphire with a surprising list of names (not
just her majesty and i!) but logistics prevented that despite the hard work
of the autocrat. 8( our travel fund is pathetically low (especially
compared to other kingdoms comprised of states in much better economic
condition than atlantia) and needs a great deal of support if monarchs are
active and travel a lot. thanks to everyone that has already shown us such
great support.

Greetings,
I must defer to HM on this question though something tells me no Atlantian
Knight would turn away one of our up and coming youth.
Your Majesty?

I have a quick question...
Is this raffle open to youth armored combatants? I have three division 1
fighters that might be interested.
Thank you,
Siegfried McClure

Atlantia's pride has offered their arms!!!!
In support of Their Majesties Kingdom Travel Fundraiser these Knights of
Atlantia have offered their time, wisdom and skills to you. Exclusively!!!
That's right!!! Another chance to win some one-on-one time with Atlantia's
feared prowess.
Focus on training, learn a new form, improve your footwork or just spend
some time getting to know the men behind the shields.
A lotto/raffle style drawing will be held Sunday July 12th at King's
Assessments with all proceeds in support of the Kingdom Travel Fund.
Cost:
Two dollars ($2) per lot, six (6) for ten ($10). Lot's can be bought
directly on site from Baron Matthew of Battle or in advance through the KA
web site - http://ebonwoulfe.com/ka.htm. Click on donate.
How it works:
Every Knight will have a hat and there will be one winner drawn per hat
(except His Majesty who is offering two separate drawings for one hour
each). Place your ticket in the hat of the Knight you wish to train with (if
you prepay using paypal please indicate how you would like your lots
placed). You can put one lot per hat, more than one lot in a hat, or
multiples of lots in whatever hats.
You do not need to be present to win. Winners will be announced on line and
contacted directly with the details. The winner gets one hour of one on one
training.
Training will occur at your arrangement all scheduling to be done between
the Knight and Winner and must be completed within one year of the drawing.
The drawing is for one hour of personal training. The following Knights
