I wanted to mention that I spent the entire day under the Rose Garden
tent and found it wonderfully cooler then just about anyplace else.
It was convenient to the list field and was also a gathering place
for other folks. Being close to the treeline in the back we also
seemed to catch cool breezes at unexpected moments. That was always
refreshing!
The folks running the dayboard were a bit distressed that more Roses
weren't there. They went to a great deal of trouble to make gorgeous
tidbits for us- the stuffed dates were
fabulous, especially the ones stuffed with procuitto. The fritatta,
meatballs and salad were delicious as well and I never had to worry
about having an empty glass. There was also a chest of just ice
available all during the day which came in very handy as you can well
imagine. I would strongly suggest that we keep the Rose Garden tent
idea as it makes it much easier on anyone who will be providing a
dayboard for us in the future.
I never lacked for company! Folks dropped by there all day long and
were looking for other Roses as it was expected that it would be Rose
Central. It also gave us a lovely place to meet after the fighting
was over for our meeting.
