again, please check your local laws regarding carrying weapons. in most
states it is illegal to have a sidearm in a glove box. ive been pulled over
a few times in various states for trying to travel at a reasonable speed.
ive always informed the officer of my sidearm when they first started to
talk to me and ive never, once, had a problem. this includes states that
dont allow citizens to own firearms. most of them look where i tell them it
is and have not even asked for it. some ask for it. hands on the wheel and
just tell them you are armed, bad guys never do.

Excuse me, but that's actually not quite accurate.
In Virginia, it is a FELONY to carry a deadly weapon -- gun,
knife, nun-chuck, etc. -- in your glove box.
Sorry to be a Cassandra, or a bearer of bad news, but if you
rely on police and prosecutors to use common sense in applying the
laws, IMHO you are a fool. Put the "deadly weapon" in your glove
box, and you face time in the pen, at the mercy of the guy with the
most cigarettes.
I suggest that weapons be laced on the floor of the back
seat, NOT covered while traveling.
