    I remember the day I met Arielle, aka Courtney. It was at  an SCA 
event, and we were introduced by mutual friends.  We hit it  off immediately.  I 
was so impressed with her--she had that charm  about her.  Over the years, I 
marveled at her courage.  Once,  after accompanying her to one of her 
medical appointments, I asked her why  she never got angry. She smiled and said 
she did, all the time. Then she  added that she didn't show it because she 
wanted to focus on getting  well.  She said I "did mad" better than she 
could--so I threw the  fit.  There are few people in this world who are truly 
brave.   Courtney was one of them.  She inspires me still.  She was and  
remains, a real heroine.
