Since I've gotten a few questions on the "legendary history of Storvik" poetry competition...

No, there is no official "legendary history of Storvik" (that I am aware of).  Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to *invent* some.  Was our first baroness descended from valkyries?  Is the Great Bay, from which we take our name, a vast trench left by the hammer of Thor?

There is some factual information on Storvik's history on its website (storvik.atlantia.sca.org) that you might find useful.  But if you would like to find some memorable story from the Days of Yore, some tale or lore to spin into an epic verse, I am afraid you will have to talk to people and ask them to tell their stories.

If you can't talk to people, that's okay!  You can still write the (entirely fictitious) tale of how Storvik's daughter baronies broke away from her because of highly implausible and dramatic blood-feuds, or about the (nonexistent) journey of the great Storvikii explorer Lief Drekkarson to the strange lands of the West, where they say the world was born, and all the things and people he met along the way, or whatever other story grips your imagination.

The Prose and Poetic Edda in various translations, as well as some skaldic verse (and information on all these verse forms) are all in the Internet and turn up pretty quickly with  Google searches ("prose edda", "poetic edda", "eddic poetry", "skaldic poetry", "old norse poetry", "viking poetry"), if you need more help with inspiration or information.
