[MR] Awful Quiet out there....

My only excuse for this is that it is late on a Sunday and I need a break.

To the tune of "Sounds of Silence":

Hello late July, my friend
It's time to pack up stuff again
And do so many things manually
For those two weeks that come by annually
And the personal time I had saved up is all spent
I don't lament
I hear the sound of Pennsic

In restless dreams I fought the East
>From mightiest Duke to the least
In the heavy rains and sticky air
At the classic hole showed my derriere
When my eyes were caught by the merchants hawking things
Oh my heart sings
For that's the sound of Pennsic

And in the candlelight I see
Ten thousand people, officially
Belly dancers, panicked newbies, guards
Pirates, bondage freaks, and drumming bards
Who are writing songs that no one seems to hear
Unless there's beer
And that's the sound of Pennsic

"Fools", said I, "Your motley rags
Are less period than plastic bags
Read this book that has authority
It was written by a Laurel, see"
But my advice, was disregarded quick
And ignored
In the tents of Pennsic

And the people who stayed away
Had air conditioning every day
And their showers did not need to be rushed
And their toilets, each and every one flushed
And those folks said, "Oh we wish that we could have gone to Pennsic as well
(Yeah, like hell)"
And reveled in the sounds of silence

Talbot...the medieval answer to Weird Al Yankovic
