This is exactly what I am saying. At some point, stupidity and willful ignorance hits a point where one should not bend to it's influence. At this point, by refusing to use a perfectly acceptable, accurate, and correct word in order not to offend someone is tantamount to agreeing with the idiots.
That's like agreeing that 2+2=5 just so you don't offend someone.
If anything, we need to be teaching them better, not agreeing with them. If teaching them is even possible. I would like to hope that the vast majority of reasonably intelligent people who hear someone go "well, the word's mid-EVIL, ya'll, it's got the word EVIL raht there in it!" wouild have pretty much the same reaction that we all would have. Nobody but another idiot is going to take a statement like that seriously.
