Yes, it is true that you do not have to be a fighter to donate. Or limit your donation to the $5 entry fee. And you get to see a great tournament.
 
Last year at the Freescholars tourney for Susan G Komen   ( which is also being held again  this year on Tuesday Aug 4th at noon)   , we raised $545 on the field, but subsequent donations from fellow Atlantians at War brought the total to $750.

The sad news that has touched all of us reminds us that all of our donations are needed.

One does not have to be a fighter to contribute to the effort.  
I would imagine you can "sponsor" a fighter by paying his or her $5 entry fee, or you can simply make a donation at the tournament without having to compete.  All proceeds from the Charity tournament, be they donations or actual entry fees, benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
