I have cried all day. I knew courtney before she joined the SCA. I have listened to her words as she fought to live, and I prayed for her recovery. Only those who had to live with this disease truly know how incidious it is, and I was proud to do any small thing for her.

We all knew her for being a gracious lady and I want you to know that life without you is very, very difficult. Your love for life, your ability to make everyone feel special was a rare gift, that did not go without notice on my part. You were gracious to those that were shunned by the rest, and made everyone who met you, adore you. Life burned inside you, and that light, was the light of your soul. I marveled at your will. I celebrate your strength to this day. And I am forever grateful, for your courage and your conviction. We have all despaired at our loss and only the strength of the life you gave us through your years of giving, has afforded us the strength to move forward.

As individuals, we may not be able to match Arielle's abilities or strength, but we can all strive to match her humanity and compassion for others.
