[MR] Alternate Non-toll route to Pennsic

Greetings!

I was working with Google maps to check out possible alternate routes
from the DC area up to Pennsic which don't involve driving the PA
Turnpike. One of the possible routes it came up with is to take I-70 up
to Breezewood then US-30W over to Bedford where you pick up I-99N up to
Altoona. From just south of Altoona, you take US-22 and US-422 west
through central PA through Indiana (the town not the state), Kittanning,
and Butler. It looks like is about the same distance (278 vs 280 via
the turnpike) and it only adds about 15 minutes to the estimated time.
I am also looking for a route that minimizes elevation transitions since
I will be pulling a trailer.

Anyone tried this route?

BTW, you can type "Pennsic War, Slippery Rock, PA" as a destination into
google maps and it recognizes it and routes you to Coopers Lake. For
some reason, if you just type "Pennsic War", it routes you to "Howard
County: Registation & Program Info" in Columbia MD... go figure.

Thanks!
