Well spoken each of you.

I might append that internal rationalizations such as "for glory" "for
Chivalric pursuits" and "for the honor of a lady" must of necessity be
substituted by conventionalizations such as "perfection of the martial art",
or "to enhance the academic understanding of medieval arms and armor" or "to
better understand and appreciate full contact medieval warfare without
harming practitioners."  I believe the key to persuasion is to provide a
specific laser focused analog appropriate to the audience in question.
