Unto Their Majesties Logan and Esa, Their Highnesses Vladimir and Kalisa,
the Triton Principal Herald, the Atlantian College of Heralds, the
populace of Atlantia, and all who read these presents:
Greetings from Evan da Collaureo, Sackbut Herald, on this Kalends Iulii.
Die duodecimo kalendis Iulii (on the twelfth day "before" the Kalends of
July in the Roman reckoning, which is to say, the twentieth day of June),
Anno Societatis XLIV, Their Majesties did hold a Royal Court in the barony
of Storvik, on the occasion of Storvik's Novice and Unbelt Tourney and Dun
Carraig's Challenge of the Heart, which events were held jointly on that
day.
Their Majesties processed into Court, followed by Their Highnesses; then
by Rorik and Janina, Baron and Baroness of Storvik; then by Erwin and Mary
Isabel, Baron and Baroness of Dun Carraig. Heralds proclaimed the entry of
each couple by means of a poem in the Saxon style, composed for the
occasion by Lady Teleri, Poeta Atlantiae.
Their Majesties did greet the populace. Then, at royal invitation, the two
hosting baronies held a joint baronial court. The baronisl heralds can
supply the details of those proceedings, but the chief business was to
announce the results of, and awards for, various competitions held that
day.
Once the baronial court was closed, Their Excellencies of Storvik
requested a moment of Their Majesties' time. They presented Their
Majesties and Their Highnesses with a traditional gift of hospitality,
that being bread and salt. Their Excellencies then renewed their oath of
fealty to the Crown as Baron and Baroness of Storvik.
Geoffrey Clwyd was then summoned into the Royal presence. His woodworking
was discussed, and the Order of the Pearl was summoned to gather around.
Baron Marcellus presented a legacy medallion to be given to Geoffrey, who
was duly inducted into the Order to joyful acclamation. (Scroll by Rhonwen
verch Tuder.)
Their Majesties then requested the presence of Dmitri of Lochmere, and
bestowed upon him an Award of Arms. (Scroll again by Rhonwen verch Tuder.)
Kunigunde von Darmstadt was invited before the thrones, where Their
Majesties did Award her Arms as well. (Scroll by Richard de Montbrai.)
The Royal Brewer, Sorcha Prechan, was brought before Their Majesties in
order to present them with some of the results of her recent efforts.
After the presentation, the King and Queen informed her that they weren't
done with her quite yet, and did induct her into the Order of the Coral
Branch. (Scroll by Sunniva Kyrre.)
Their Majesties then summoned Gregor von Leipzig before Them, and made hin
the newest member of the Order of the Opal. (Scroll pending.)
The presence of Connor Sinclair was then required, in order that Their
Majesties could induct him into the Order of the Coral Branch. (Scroll
illuminated by Rebecca the Contrary.)
Faye de Trees was invited into the Royal presence, and she too was
inducted into the Order of the Coral Branch, and Awarded Arms. (Scroll by
Tangwystl verch Gruffydd ap Cynan.)
Their Majesties then called for Erwin Bloodaxe and Sean Delamara. To
recognize their achievements in combat, the Order of the Kraken was
summoned, and these two Excellent gentles were inducted into that
honorable company. (Erwin's scroll by Isolda; Sean's scroll by Cian of
Storvik.)
After some closing remarks, Their Majesties' Court was then closed.
This account is accurate to the best of my knowledge and complete to the
extent of the information available to me. My efforts to assist Their
Majesties with Royal Court were greatly aided by Lady Glynis Gwynedd, who
seconded court, and by Baroness Rhonwen, scroll-wrangler extraordinaire up
until the start of Court. With thanks to these good gentles, and to all
those others who assisted Their Majesties and Their Highnesses with Court
on that day, I remain yours in service,
Evan da Collaureo, Sackbut Herald.
