Greetings All,

I will be moving to Trimarus just after Pennsic for various life-driven reasons.  I am looking for anyone interested in taking over the Kingdom Poeta and Bardic Web sites, also the Deputy Equestrian site.  If you are interested, please contact me off list at bardicsongbird at yahoo.com.

Many thanks!

~Am ;)

MOL opens at 9am. Authorizations will start as soon as we have willing marshalls, and fighters to participate in them after that. Authorizations should be finished by 11am so that the mellees can begin. We will of course work with anyone we can to get them authorized in time for Pennsic.

Since the entire event is taking place in the shade, folks don't need to stress setting up dayshades and the like, so we should be able to get things moving fairly early.

I am a warranted combat archery marshal and intend to be on site and
ready to do CA authorizations as soon as possible, I'm hoping 9:30 or
10:00 at the latest.  Certainly, we will get you going as early as
possible if time is an issue for you.

Greetings,

http://acorn.atlantia.sca.org/event_flyer.php?event_id=0bc25058

Summer War is about 3 days away!  This event is going to be very relaxed and laid back, so bear that in mind as you look at the schedule and remember that schedules are almost always tentative.

Friday-
Troll Opens at 3pm.
Bardic is sure to happen somewhere on the site about O'Dark Thirty. :-)

Saturday-
MOL opens at 9am under the large wooden pavilion above the "ravine".
Authorizations (Rapier, Armoured, and Combat Archery) begin once the MOL opens.
11am- A&S pavilion opens (wooden covered structure near bathroom and merchants), childrens activities begin in the "stage" structure near bathrooms.
11am - Armoured melees in the ravine..  Rapier melees in the woods. Archery begins.
At some point, the Armoured and Rapier fighters swap locales. :-)
4pm- A&S closes
4:30- Caer Mear and Windmasters Hill Baronial Courts
5:30- Feast
O'Dark Thirty- More bardic and merriment, probably some sparklers and some adult beverages. :-)

REALLY Important Details About Feast-
Due to considerations for the heat and the small number of people we are serving, feast will be a "take away" feast.  Bring your feast gear and enjoy the ability to take the delicious dinner back with you to your camp, to have dinner in a very relaxed environmment among your nearest and dearest, not crowded under a too-hot pavilion.
Feast is nearly sold out now but if you want to go on-board, we will have a waiting list at troll for people to sign up for.

Sparkers and Fireworks
Real fireworks are *generally* NOT permitted in Virginia and no fireworks are permitted at the event.  That being said, sparklers, showers, and such that are perfectly legal (if no where near as fun) are permitted and welcome, but PLEASE use care and remember the local sheriff might be bored and wandering around the site like he is prone to do, so dont do anything that would get you or the AUTOCRAT arrested. :-)

Summer War is going to be an awesome, laid back, fun event and we look forward to seeing you there this weekend.

Any questions about the event should be directed to my email - melisentlaruse at yahoo.com or call me at 804-658-9185.

Warm regards,
Melisent
Autocrat- Summer War
and
Baroness, Caer Mear

Good Afternoon!

King's assessments will be taking place this year July 10-12, in
Booneville, NC. That's in two weeks folks!

To those fighters attending Pennsic, come and train, both individually and
with your unit, in preparation for the War!

To those fighters not attending Pennsic, YOU SHOULD COME TOO! Help prepare
those fighters going to war by serving as the opposing force and allowing
those persons attending Pennsic to work together!

The current plan for Rapier is to have ToC style sparring in the morning to
help prepare our fighters for the many Tournaments at the war, as well as
help sharpen our rapier skills in general. After lunch and water, we will
be having the Pennsic units form up for melee training in the afternoon.

Those persons interested in marshalling or MIT'ing (this is a great time to
get your melee requirement checked off) on the rapier side of the field,
please contact me off of the list.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Until then,
have fun and I look forward to seeing you all on the field!

Sincerely,

Christopher MacConing

Provost,
Companion of the White Scarves of Atlantia

R-MIC, Assessments
