...then you can probably enter it as an A&S entry at Ymir. It doesn't matter
how he might have acquired it -- whether he made it, his daughter gave it to
him, he looted it from a village or monastery or castle, or he traded for it
from merchants who had traveled to the East -- if a Norseman (or woman)
could have owned it, then you may enter it into the competition.
If the item you are entering is not typically associated with Vikings,
please give a brief description in your documentation of why and how a
Norseman might have acquired it. Imagination encouraged...although you might
not have to imagine too hard, since items such as stone Buddhas and Persian
cups have been found in Scandinavian digs.
The A&S contest will begin accepting entries after morning court. Because we
must complete judging in a very short time period, I appreciate knowing in
advance what you intend to enter. I will be better able to locate
appropriate judges for your entry if I know what you plan to bring. Youth
entries are encouraged.
Please contact me with any questions, to let me know what you plan to enter,
or to offer your services as a judge.
In service,
Margaret Wolseley
