Greetings from Sir Guy XO of the Great Altantian Northern Army for His Grace, Duke Badouin, the Warlord and Legatus Legionis for the North.

Another email will be following however I wanted to point out a couple of events that take some lead time for and that we would like to support.

The First is Gulf Wars, his Majesty as I am sure you have heard is calling for a great mustering of his forces at this event.  Sir Sir Tascius, one of our Northern Horsemen is going to be organizing (I think) a trip down there from the North, We would like to see as many Northern Fighters as possible fighting as a Northern Army, Gulf Wars is 15-22 Mar 09,  We had a bus idea but that is going to cost to much, we are researching other ideas.  Registration for Gulf Wars XVIII (2009) online registration is now open, Registration deadline: Post marked by January 31st, 2009 for mail in registrations and on-line registrations will close February 18, 2009.

If you can not make Gulf Wars then the second event is Blackstone Raids.  I am sure his Highness would like as many of the Northern Fighters there as well.   Last year the Northern was 1/3 of the Atlantian Host who attended, Atlantia represented around 1/3 (I think there were like 15 of us) of the fighters at Blackstone.  This event other then say Pennsic, Gulf or WOW is one of the coolest events on the calendar.  The site is awesome and the fighting was heroic and enspiring.  While last year we made a20difference in the fighting I think we could dominate the event this year if enough fighters from Altantia Show.  I am sure the North will be putting together a plan to get fighters there.  This is really an event to plan for.  I would encourage folks to pile as many fighters into cars as they can and head to Black Stone the dates are 23-26 Apr 09.  There is a hotel and cabins on site as well as tenting areas.  So Guy say, Northern Army go to event, smash foes for Atlantia.

We have also added another position to the Northern Hierarchy.  That of Siege Captain (we will come up for a cooler name later)  Baron Jonathas will be the Northern Army’s Captain of Seige and will be coordinating those efforts.  So if you know anyone who would like to get on the melee field as a part of the Northern Army and isn’t into Heavy Combat Archery or Heavy fighting point them that way.  We would like to group our Siege Force so that they will be devastating.  Siege is also a big part of the Castle Battle at Gulf Wars.

This is not to say we are not supporting Ice Castles or most importantly Ymir in the short term.  If you want to show us what you have Ymir is one of the events to do that.  When we start picking the 10 Man Melee Team and Allied Champions Teams we look at individual performance as well as Melee.  More so I would say.  So go there and fight.  We will be organizi
ng trips there also.

As a reminder the following is the Organization for the Northern Army at the top level.

His Grace, Duke Badouin as the Warlord and Legatus Legionis for the North

Sir Tascius, Tribunus Angusticlavus: Northern Cluster: Highland Foorde,  Bright Hills, Lochmere, Wulfshaven, Sir Tascius will also be our be our Mercenary Liason.

Sir Theron,Tribunus Angusticlavus: Central Cluster: Dun Carraig,  Storvik, Spiaggia Levantina, Blackspear

Baron Max, Tribunus Angusticlavus Southern Cluster: Ponte Alto, Roxbury, Mill, Stierbach , Consortium.

Lord Gregor von Leipzig,  Archery Primus, Combat Archers and Horseman.

Baron Jonathas, Captain of Siege. Horseman.

Lord Vels inn Viggladi, Operations and Training Officer

Mistress Chagan Khulan is our Logistics Officer and will be helping each of the three Northern Regions in supporting their folks.  We are really looking to buid this area up to help get the fighters there and keep them going once they get there.

If you are interested in any of the above areas of helping out please contact me or one of the above.  It may seem like we have a lot of folks at the top, however it makes things easier for planning and adds back-up if someone can not make it.  We are still a bottom up Army and exists to make things more fun for the Fighter, Water bearer, Combat Archer, Siege or whatever at the lowest level.  I think you saw how we have performed during the past year and we want to build on tha
t.

More to follow as we ramp up for War Season.

I remain

Sir Guy
