Greetings unto my fellow bards and all lovers of the Muse!
Winter is hard upon us; as we are drawn to the welcoming fireside, great
is the need for bards to entertain the mind and delight the heart. Most
eagerly does the Barony of Highland Foorde crave the company of hardy
and willing performers at the upcoming day of Feasting and Foolishness
on Saturday, February 21 at Frederick, Maryland (details in the Acorn
issues of Dec 08 and Jan 09).
In addition to a bardic circle, there have been four bardic challenges
issued:

Lady Livia of Ravenswode issues a challenge for performance in any
bardic discipline that focuses upon medieval women. Documentation not
required but appreciated when offered.

Lady Swannoc Beag issues a challenge for performance of an original
composition in any bardic discipline (no filks, please).

Lady Gerita della Mara issues a challenge for filks.

Dona Elvira Pedrosa issues a challenge for performance in any bardic
discipline by children aged 10 and under.

May it please you to pass the word along to other bards. Preregistration
highly suggested as feast space is not unlimited. Ensembles are welcome
as well as solo performers; are there any dancers who would deign to
grace our gathering? I will be happy to answer any questions about the
