[MR] (MR) how does a family membership work?

Fairly straightforward, actually.
(the following assumes 2 adults and 2 children both under 21, adjust
as necessary...)
Go to the website https://membership.sca.org/
What you want to do for the least cost is purchase one "sustaining"
membership ($35), and then "Family" memberships ($10 each) for the
other three members of the family. You end up getting a copy of the
Acorn and 4 membership cards. Note that in some limited cases, the
2nd adult would not be eligible for certain benefits (certain offices,
etc, as those occasionally require an Associate or better membership).
There aren't any benefits the children woudl need that require
anything beyond family membership.
An alternative for the second adult, if they don't want to deal with
any issues of that sort, is to have them get an "associate"
membership ($10 more). That resolves any issues you could have
regarding "You're not enough of a member". That choice is up to you
and your checkbook.
On the website, there is a link to an online form. On that form, you
first enter the details for the Sustaining Member (the one you want
the Acorn to be addressed to), After you "Continue" on that page, you
will be taken to a page where you can specify the number of other
membership types you need. Enter "3" in the "Family Memberships"
field, and then you will be taken to a page where you can describe the
other three members.
Finally, pay with a visa and/or mastercard, and voila, you're done.
It used to be that you had to print out a waiver form and send it in
separately to get your blue cards, but if I understand correctly, they
now have an online system for the waivers now. I do not know if you
can do the minor waivers there or not.
Hope this is helpful!
