I too would reccomend pacific yurt company, as well as Great American
Yurt Company.
However it is not hard at all to make walls and a roof for a yurt.
You can either hang seperate pannels for the walls (great if you have a
yurt that has multiple kahna. this allows you to open one or more
sides. These are no more complex to make than a tarp. If you can find
a good deal on canvas, it is economic as well.
A roof can be more difficult because of the conical shape, though you
can use a square section just as easily. I have seen people use big
vinyl coated tarps for the roofs to good effect. The white surface
does a good job of reflecting sunlight. (Ours is dark blue, and is an
oven during a sunny day.) Our walls and our roof we made ourselves,
the heavy stiching beyond what our sewing machine at the time could
handle was done by hand, the whole project only took 1 weekend for the
layout and cutting and sewing the walls, the roof was finished over the
following weeknight doing hand sewing in front of the tv.
