[MR] 5th Peerage

I've changed the subject heading, because we already have a 4th peerage.
It's the Rose.  

Nobody is denied a peerage because of the activity they do. It's true that
there is currently no rapier peerage.  There is no equestrian or archery or
thrown weapons peerages either, but those individuals who serve and
participate in all these areas can receive Laurels for their research, if
they do research, or Pelicans for service to their martial art, as Genevieve
pointed out on this list earlier.

As to the 'peerage has power'...  No, not really.  Certain individual peers
have power in the SCA, largely because these are people who are natural
leaders, who have stepped forward to organize things, to serve in various
offices, etc., and have been recognized for their accomplishments with
peerages.
