I completely agree. I am sure there are many within the society that have earned their Peerage for being the person willing to take the time and energy to lead.  It is all of our responsibility to lead.  If not in battle or through an official position, then at least by example.

There is a fallacy in your arguement. Do you honestly believe that someone must be a Peer to be a leader? I strongly disagree, and worshipfully admire our Provosts, for instance, that teach, serve, and lead by example. A title will never dicate that love of the Society.
