Historians help me, but do I not recall that during Medieval times, there
have been some archers and fighters of other disiplines Knighted? It was rare,
but I believe it did happen...

Personally I think non-heavy combat has been too long ignored in the Peerage
community. The rapier, archery, thrown weapons populous give every bit as
much, to the game we all adore, as the Heavy fighting, A&S and service
communities. Why should they not be recognized on a peerage level for that
contribution??

Now the question of "do they fit into an existing Peerage"?? No I dont think
they do. Yes rapier (for example) is both an art and a science, however in
that light so is heavy fighting, so a rapier fighter can no sooner be
considered a Laurel as a heavy fighter could. And the fact that heavy fighting has
its own peerage would say that in all fairness non-heavy combatents should
have their own. Lets face it, there are certainly some rapier fighters out
there that have honed their craft to such a degree as to have achieved Mastery in
their craft, this point can not be argued, so why not award them with a
title of that achievment???

Just my two cents.
