[MR] I'll Probably Regret This Later

let me take a moment to address a few things.

first, the conspiracy theories and tales of nefarious acts are uncalled for
and unsubstantiated. the are a lot of rumors flying around regarding this
situation so let me try to dispel some of them. there is nothing
"hush-hush" going on. the board of directors asked that we do a
"pan-peerage petition" and defined that as active (paid membership) peers in
the kingdom. the reasoning for that is simple, it deals with an experienced
cross section of about 200 people instead of 3500 with varying degrees of
knowledge and experience. when i wrote the petition i created a petition
for folks that are not paid members AND peers because we felt that anyone
with an opinion should have an outlet to voice it. whether the board will
take those into account or not is unknown but at least people have an
option. folks can always write to us, their majesties, the kingdom
seneschal, the board, etc with their opinions as well.

we did not bring all of this to the attention of the merry rose, we kept it
to the peerage lists. the merry rose was pushed into this situation by
duchess rachels post suggesting that only janos knows the whole truth. we
encourage anyone that is interested in contacting janos, as duchess rachael
suggests, to hear his side. before anyone can make an educated opinion one
must hear all sides and janos has his side and it should be heard. at the
same time be responsible enough to contact her highness or i and hear "the
other side". the board has laid out very clearly what we can, and cannot,
say on the matter. there is no cover up there is no hiding of information.
her highness and i spend, on average, between two and three hours a night on
our phones talking with people that want to hear the facts. again, we
encourage anyone that is interested to seek out the information from all
parties.

we have been told that there are charges against janos, or accusations of,
very serious crimes. this is unknown to us, their majesties, and the board.
unless you know for a fact that there has been some kind of criminal action
on the part of janos you are only spreading rumor and untruth. that is
unfair to janos and it is unfair to our society. it is also totally
irresponsible. we have been told that the process that the board has used
is flawed and full of holes. flawed? perhaps. it is the system that we
have in place and while it might need to be tweaked it does work and needs
to be supported. we have also been told that her highness and i are
pressuring people to support the petition. this is utter nonsense and
wholly untrue. we have been tasked with collecting the opinions of
atlantias peers, nothing more. it is the responsibility of all peers to
offer council to the crowns. what we have said is that we expect every
single peer to fill a petition out, as it is a responsibility of their
station. we even included a "no opinion" option for those disinterested in
finding out the facts behind this situation.

we ask that everyone please remain polite and respectful during this time.
if anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me or her highness
directly.

regards
logan

from what i understand, the offices of atlantia are not trying to keep this
hush hush on their own accord. it is at the request of the BOD to keep this
quite. if i am incorrect, i apologize.

Passion, it lies in all of us. Sleeping, waiting, and though unwanted,
unbidden it will stir. Open it's jaws and howl. It speaks to us, guides
us. Passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have?
Passion is the source of our finest moments. the joy of love, the clarity of
hatred, and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear.
If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace. But we
would be hollow. Empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion, we'd
truly be dead.
