I am a comparative nobody, with no dog in this fight...I do not know
the details of the incidents in question, and I have no desire to
know.

However, that being said...I wonder how many of the people with strong
opinions on the subject, particularly relating to one particular
person, actually *know* first hand what went on, what the accusations
are, what the evidence is, what the defense is, and etc.

Versus how many have heard second, third or fourth hand recountings of
stories, and jumped to conclusions with questionable knowledge of
reality.

The SCA is famous for being a game of telephone...regarding this one
particular gentle, I have heard the gamut from "He made an innocent
flirt at the wrong person at the wrong time, who knew someone, which
was misinterpreted and is being railroaded because of it" to "He
attempted to force himself upon somoene, but only got stopped when
someone threatened with steel".

Presumably, the truth is somewhere between those two extremes.

With few exceptions, nobody on this list knows what actually happened.
Nor do the majority of the Peers of the Kingdom. Why the rest are
being dragged through the mud of being asked to make a decision how
they feel, without all of the evidence, without any defense by the
accused, without any sort of formal procedure...strikes me as
inappropriate. It also concerns me that I have seen these petitions
being circulated in a very targetted manor. I have seen a petition
carrier walk past three Peers, to approach a 4th and get a signature.

There was a hearing before the BoD, a sanction was issued, so far as I
know it has been followed. Presumably, they have heard more of the
evidence from more of the people than any of us can claim to have been
able to.

What, exactly, is wrong with letting the people who are the judge,
jury, and executioner do their job and be satisfied with the outcome?
