Folks,
The following is the menu for the feast at A Day in the Middle East,
barring any major complications:

Stuffed and Roast Mutton, called "The Complete" (stuffed with chicken, lamb
sausage and a sauce made with eggs and seasonings)
Thumiyya (Chicken with Garlic, Lavender and Spices)
Jazr (Carrots cooked with wine vinegar, garlic and cumin seeds)
Jannâniyya (the Gardener's Dish--a variety of veggies cooked with eggs,
cheese, bread crumbs, coriander and mint juice)
Lift Mukhallal (Pickled Turnips)
Couscous
Lauzinaj (Marzipan Stuffed Pastry)
Muhallebi (Creamed rice custard garnished with pomegranate seeds)
Lemon-Ginger Drink
Sekanjabin

Again, I have followed the tradition we have set over the years that
we've done this event, that of choosing one culture from the group
generally known as the Middle East as the focus for the feast. This
year, I've chosen al-Andalus, or Muslim Spain. Most of these dishes
come from "The Anonymous Andalusian Cookery Book." If anyone has any
dietary or other concerns about the feast, please let me know--I can be
reached at cook at mideast.duncarraig.net.

There will also be a wonderful mezze (dayboard) for your enjoyment during
the day. This is being prepared by Lord Gormr, and features several new
dishes, along with many old favorites.

We hope you all will join us...you can find the complete event announcement
at http://www.duncarraig.net/middle_eastern.
We have lots of wonderful things planned for this year, including fun events
for children. We are having the event at a wonderful new site that we know
you all will enjoy.

See you there!
