Greetings!
As just announced, we've gotten sites for the Kingdom level events through May set. Currently, I"m still accepting bids for June University. I've received the actual paperwork from no one yet, but there are three bids that I'm told are coming, and a fourth that is a little less certain, but a possibility nonetheless. So... if you've been thinking about putting in a bid for June University but haven't spoken to me, please do so! The more the merrier!

Beyond that, I wanted to draw the populace's attention to a few changes that have been made on the event bid site. First, I've mentioned this before, but the attendance numbers for events up until quite recently are up-to-date here: http://seneschal.atlantia.sca.org/KingdomBids/EventBidRequirements.php . That page is very helpful when weighing out the possibility of hosting a Kingdom event.

Secondly, we moved the bid deadline up for 12th Night. We felt that any site likely to be able to accommodate an event the size of 12th Night would be available to reserve further in advance than many other site types we typically use, and would be more likely to be snatched from our grasp by some other group wishing to reserve it. Therefore, we felt a longer lead time was appropriate.

Thirdly, we have set ourselves a notification date. For any event with a concrete bid deadline, assuming that we have bids on the deadline, we will notify the bidding groups one way or the other within a month. Hopefully this will make the bid process less stressful for the bidders.

Finally, we're starting to ask that to but a bid in, you fill out the budget portion of the Exchequers' event report. Your exchequer has to fill it out in the end anyway, so you may as well start it now, when setting a budget is useful. It's an Excel spreadsheet, so it does the math for you. Not a numbers person? Grab your exchequer. They can help. Really. The form is at the bottom here: http://seneschal.atlantia.sca.org/KingdomBids/EventBidProcess.php.

In addition to the afore-mentioned University, I am certainly accepting bids for any of the fall/ winter events as well. Even if you're just thinking about it and have questions or concerns, feel free to contact me, or catch me in person at an event. I'll be at Feast & Foolishness and KASF in the next few weeks, or we can coordinate another time.
