[MR] OT anyone with a diabetic dog? i need info

  Probably should just ask my vet, but since were dicussing it ...
What about nuts?  We have a dog who loves patashios.  She cracks the 
shell eats the nut then the
shell.  My husband has started feeding her walnuts (already shelled).

Good or bad?

remember: dog food is for dogs, people food is for people. I know of
no dog who will starve himself if all you offer it is dog food. The
dog might not LIKE it at first, but..... it's better and more
balanced if you give them a quality name brand and not the off brand
at Sams or Walmart or what have you.

Rat poison..... get the pet seen NOW.  Not in 3 days when it starts
showing signs of something. By then it is most likely too late.

When in doubt... call Animal Poison control: 888-426-4435 ( I
think).  It's run by the ASPCA and has the world's largest data base
for things like accidental poisonings and stuff like that. They do
charge for the information, but..... they also give you a case number
and a call back number to give to your vet once the animal is
presented to them so that the vet can treat the pet accordingly and
effectively. WE use them a lot. More than I'd like to admit
sometimes. But they have proven to be an invaluable service.
