Being slightly younger than Logan, as far as numbers go 77240, I have let my
membership lapse over the years but have always renewed with the same
number. I remember the old number and just tell the old one. So if any of the old
timers can remember that number, they can probably get that number back.

Unfortunately, it does not work like that. For database maintenance,
numbers were purged periodically. I had a membership number in the 50,000s, and
let it lapse. When renewing again a few years later, I asked for the old
number, but it was gone. So now I have one in the 105,000s. While It would be
neat to whip out a card with a 5 digit number (even one that was just in the
middle), I must live with my 6-digit number now.

I can be superior to my children (130,000s and 140,000s).
