Greetings unto Gorm (and the kingdom) from Master Terafan,
I think an important issue is being mis-construed (or perhaps mis-understood)...
In one note Gorm stated:
> There was a hearing before the BoD, a sanction was issued, so far as I
> know it has been followed...
>
> What, exactly, is wrong with letting the people who are the judge,
> jury, and executioner do their job and be satisfied with the outcome?
Followed with (in another email)
> I have no knowledge of whether the accused is guilty of the crimes
> he is accused of or not
Many of the peers don't know either, but that is NOT the question.
As you stated, the BoD conducted a hearing and made a ruling. Those issues are fact, but they are also history. Nobody is being asked to be "judge and jury" on the issue. That was already done and we are "satisfied with the outcome".
Please don't drag us down a road that nobody wants to go down by jumping to conclusions and making assumptions. The kingdom and the peers are *not* on that bus... Although the Board's ruling is a relevant fact, we have a different question to consider.
Cheers,
Terafan

Subject: Re: [MR] I'll Probably Regret This Later
Regretfully, they are not my questions alone, and my asking you,
although it may have assuaged my concerns (although, to be honest, I
am less than convinced), it would not have assuaged the questions or
concerns of the multiple people who have approached me in my role as
Baronial Seneschal (the person who is *supposed* to know about
Sanctions and appeals and all that) and asked what is going on when an
event in my Barony has this going on.
Nor would it have assuaged the concerns of the multiple people who
have writen me privately off-list (including at least one Peer) with
variations on the theme "Thank you for saying what we feel we cannot".
I must be honest, I intend to write the BoD Ombudsman for the Kingdom
and express my extreme dismay about how this is being handled. I have
no knowledge of whether the accused is guilty of the crimes he is
accused of or not, but the process as it is being done does not strike
me, a disinterested bystander, as being done fairly, openly, and in
line with the stated Greivance Procedure. Will it matter? Possibly
not, as I am not a Peer, so my opinions are apparently irrelevant to
the discussion. However, I am a paid member, and as an member of the
office responsible for enforcement of Policies, Procedures, and
Sanctions, it is my Duty, as unpopular as it may be.
