Please....all of you, know that MOST pet owners love their pets like children, and as a pet owner, I take care of my pets...I would like the same rules to apply to everyone...To take the pleasure out of an event for me, is to not be able to bring my "children" or pets...so, imagine if events where no longer "child" friendly....think about it..how would you feel.

I am simply saying how I feel, and know that I love my dogs and if I bring them to an event, please be sure to come say Hello, please be sure that you tell your little ones that dogs are not nice to everyone, and that everyone is not welcome by every dog...much like not everyone is child friendly, and if you bring your children to an event...be prepared to care for them, pick up after them and keep them safe...safe from harm..just like I do when I bring my "children" to an event.

Thank you your Excellency for well worded comments. I entirely agree with you.
People with dogs often seem to take better care of them than some people with children. I think that overall SCA parents of two- and four-legged children do a far better job with both.
At events (NOT, insofar as I can remember, SCA ones) I have heard parents complaining about dogs and then watched them load their children and babies into the car, get in the car, close the windows, and..light up a cigarette. Given the types of car I have observed this happening in these are often people with the education to realize the horrendous danger of second-hand smoke. And yet these people are not required by law to license their children, pick up after them, make sure they have their shots, etc. And they have the gall to complain about well-behaved, leashed or fenced dogs. Or other types of animals. I wish I could call the SPCA on them.
