Greetings Unto All!
There have been some concerns raised about the possibility of nasty weather
tomorrow night and as to the status of Yule Toy Tourney IV. The official
weather forecast as of right now on Yahoo is:
Detailed Local Forecast 17DEC09
* Today:Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 52F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.
* Tonight:Cloudy. Low 36F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph.
* Tomorrow:Windy with rain likely. Some sleet may mix in. Temps nearly
steady in the mid 30s. Winds NE at 15 to 25 mph. Rainfall may reach one
inch.
* Tomorrow night:Rain showers in the evening changing to snow showers
overnight. Low 33F. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precip 50%. Some
snow accumulation possible.
* Saturday:Considerable cloudiness. Highs in the mid 40s and lows in the low
30s.
So we are aware of the forecast. And Yule Toy will still be held. As it is
for charity we will be going ahead with the event (This is our last chance
to collect toys before Christmas). It is at the Shrine Club, so there is a
heated indoor hall to warm ourselves and congregate in. We will be setting
up coverings for the fighting if necessary. The site has a covered picnic
area where we have held Rapier tourneys before, and I have a large (30x12),
albeit mundane, tent that can be set up for the heavy fighters. We also have
day shades that can be used to shoot archery from underneath. If there are
any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me at
bcaiside at yahoo.com <bcaiside%40yahoo.com>. This is a truly worthy cause, and
I still look forward to seeing you all there. Thank You.
