Double check before going to the Virginia House. It has special days for visits, and it use to be by invitation, or you contacting them in advance.
I got a special tour there one year and it was grand. Of course I was there to visit the gardens more so than the house and this was before I was in the SCA.

OK, two of them side by side an hour or so from my house is too much to resist.
I'm going in the spring.
Thanks, all, for the tourism tips.

Agecroft is definitely worth a visit, as well as its next-door neighbor, Virginia House. Virginia House was a 12th century priory that got the same treatment as Agecroft. Wonderful to have such treasures literally next door.

Both are splendid in the springtime, with fantastic gardens- but walking up the drive to Agecroft on a bleak winter's day also seems very appropriate- or you could watch one of Shakespeare's works in the courtyard as evening starts to ease the heat of summer... http://www.richmondshakespeare.com/default.asp
Agecroft often has May Day and Guy Fawkes events, and y'all just missed their Christmas open house last Saturday. Both are also usually part of Historic Garden Week. http://www.vagardenweek.org/ Note that if you come up for one of the events/open houses, you won't get a full tour- they usually do abridged station tours for those because of the number of visitors. On the other hand, the Living History cast is there for the events.

M'Lady Cairistiona, Greetings.
You were close. It is Agecroft Hall. Here is the web site: http://www.agecrofthall.com/ . Haven't been there yet myself, but it is on our list for next year.
Kind regards,
Mungo Napier, Archer of Mallard Lodge
