Lord Gorm,
I do appologize to you if my words seemed directed at you and this rule
in particular.
I just could not help making the dog barking being period comment :)
I primarily am just confused why:
A. More people do not take personal responsibility as their
responsibility. It was a big thing in the timeframe we recreate. and
B. Why we do not "internal police" more with the power of the crown
instead of dealing with things by making codified rulings against them.
I do feel bad that in the case you detailed, even though an iron clad
rule was made, you still had to have a confrontation; which is my
another point;
Even when these rules do get made, it still comes down to someone has
to go chew someone out and have the "uncomfortable moment"
Is there an Atlantian Constabulary like in other kingdoms? If somone
knows, please direct me to them I would like to assist. This job should
not have to fall to the autocrat or the general staff of the event,
they have enough to worry about to create the excellent events we enjoy
in this Kingdom.
I would like to say if I had delt with what you describe for many years
I too probably whould have come to the same conclusion and banned dogs
as you did; especially if the populace had been consulted and agreed as
it did in your case.
On another note, you are correct, Therapy animals are not covered under
the ADA, but it does cover assistance/service animals
>From the usda.gov site:
"The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) specifically defines a
service animal as a “guide dog, signal dog, or other animal
individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a
disability.”"
It makes me sad to think people are using a legitimate tool for the
disabled as a excuse.
