Sagas of the Stone - January 23rd
More info here -http://www.middlegate.atlantia.sca.org/sagas.html
The cold winds of winter have been blowing and Odin has taken to the halls
of Asgard to watch over the lands, waiting for the Frost Giants to retreat
once more. It is at this time that the men and women of the North huddle in
their own halls, telling stories, working at their various items of need and
decoration, as the winter leaves much time for.

To celebrate these brave and robust individuals, at “sagas” there we will
held competitions worthy of the hardy peoples of the North. The categories
are

   - Norse Clothing (This may include items of cloth or leather)
   - Norse Embroidery
   - Norse based Jewelry (This can include treasure necklaces,
glass beads and/or wire Weaving, etc...)
   - Norse inspired works of metal, bone and/or wood (This can
include casting, carving or furniture, etc...)
   - Miniature longboats
   - Early Period Illumination (based on illuminations done before
   1100)

Documentation is strongly requested but not required

During feast, there will also be a competition to give individuals the
opportunity to show their hand at Viking poetry, stories, or song. It can
be interesting, it can be serious, it can stir the heart to long for Spring
and war, it can be funny (as if inspired by Loki himself). The winner is to
be determined by Their Excellencies will, and in case of a tie, populace
favorite

Put mind to the works of the North and bring out your best. Any questions
